VIII All-Ukrainian Conference of Young Rukh

VIII All-Ukrainian Conference of Young Rukh took place on December 2001 in Kiyv.

"Young Rukh" will support the electoral block of Victor Yushenko in the upcoming election" is stated in the resolution adopted by the delegates of the Conference.

The main issue of the Conference was the matter of participation of the organization in the electoral process. (Young Rukh is one of the founders of the All-Ukrainian Coalition of Youth "Our Ukraine").

The delegates of the Conference were personally greeted by Former Prime Minister of Ukraine, the Leader of block "Our Ukraine" Victor Yushenko, the Head of the Ukrainian People's Movement, MP Yuriy Kostenko, the Chairman of the Christian-Democratic Youth of Ukraine Olexandr Yarema and by other guests.

The Conference elected the governing organs of the organization. By the secrete ballots Vyacheslav Kyrylenko, MP was elected the Chairman of Young Rukh for the next term. Yuriy Zubko, the Chancelor of the Kyiv City Council became First Vice-Chairman. Elected Vice-Chairmen are Taras Shamayda ( Nead of Kyiv regional organization of Young Rukh), Serhiy Maliovanets (Chairman of the Ukrainian Student's Assotiation), Timur Nahalevskiy (Head of Zhytomyr regional organization of Young Rukh), Pavlo Rozenko.

"Study Visit" to Ukraine

 

The delegation of the Youth of Latvia People's Party (YLPP) visited Ukraine upon the invitation of Young Rukh in the end of November 2001. The aim of the visit was to familiarize with the activity of the youth organizations of Ukraine and their participation in a social and political life of the country.

During the numerous meetings organised in the Ukrainian Parliament, the Kyiv City Council, the Department on Family and Youth affairs of Kyiv City Administration and with the leaders of the Coalition of Youth "Our Ukraine" the guests from Latvia had an opportunity to get overwhelming information as to current situation in Ukraine as well as to find out about the intentions of modern Ukrainian political active youth.

The Secretary of YLPP Ritvars Repelis was quoted as saying that what the youth of different youth democratic movements does in Ukraine today is an irreversible way for building welfare and flourishing country.

 

The Coalition of Youth "Our Ukraine"

 

On October 6 2001 the representatives of 27 youth parties and organizations of Ukraine including gathered in Kyiv to declare the creation of the All-Ukrainian Coalition of Youth "Our Ukraine". The declaration unanimously approved by all the delegates of the Forum states that youth intends to take active part in electoral campaign at all levels and make all their efforts for the winning of the block of democratic forces "Our Ukraine" headed by Former Prime Minister Victor Yushchenko in the name of freedom and welfare of the Ukrainians. The Chairman of Young Rukh, MP Vyacheslav Kyrylenko was elected the Co-Head of the Coalition.

The parliamentary and local elections are officially scheduled on
March 31, 2002.

 

Young Rukh in an international community

 

On August 2001 First Vice – Chairman of Young Rukh Yuriy Zubko and International Secretary of Young Rukh Andriy Vitrenko came back from the United States. They participated in the Young Leaders Forum in Litchfield, Connecticut where the participants from more than 40 countries of the world gathered to discuss the main aspects of the world youth movement.

 

Black Sea welcomes Young Rukh

 

Educational and recreation camp of Young Rukh was being held on the Black Sea coast during August 1-8 2001.

 

Conquering the peaks

 

The mass joint conquest of the highest peak of the Carpathian Mts

- Goverla took place on August 15. Conquering the Carpathians Former Prime Minister of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko was accompanied by 2000 representatives of the People's Movement of Ukraine, Ukrainian People's Movement and Young Rukh.

"Victor Yushchenko gave the lead to thousands of people climbing Goverla today. I believe that in nearest future he'll give the lead to millions of Ukrainians as to the political displacements ", said Vyacheslav Kyrylenko, Chairman of Young Rukh.
